Bagel Harissa Tofu and Rice Bowl


Bagel Harissa Tofu and Rice Bowl offers a tantalizing blend of flavors, combining spicy harissa-marinated tofu with fluffy rice atop a hearty bagel base. Ingredients:

For Everything Bangel Seasoning

  1. 2 tbsp poppy seeds
  2. 1½ tbsp dried minced garlic
  3. 1½ tbsp dried minced onion
  4. 1 tbsp white sesame seeds
  5. 1 tbsp black sesame seeds
  6. ½ tbsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  7. 2 tsp coarse sea salt

Instructions:

  • Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and stir till well incorporated.
  • Store in a spice jar.

For the Tofu

  1. 1 block extra firm tofu, cubed
  2. ½ cup corn starch
  3. ⅓ cup plant milk
  4. 2 tbsp everything bagel seasoning
  5. 1 tbsp harissa powder (optional)
  6. 1 tsp sea salt
  7. ¼ cup neutral oil

Instructions:

  • Place the plant milk in a bowl. In a separate bowl whisk together the corn starch, everything bagel seasoning, harissa and salt.
  • Dip the tofu cubes first in the plant milk then roll into the corn starch mix, making sure each cube is coated on all sides.
  • Heat up the oil in a skillet and once hot add the tofu and cook until golden on all sides, ~1-2 mins per side.
